LAVIN IN THE ENGADIN VALLEY
Lavin is a small, charming mountain village in the middle of the historical Lower Engadin Valley. Within 1-3 minutes walking distance from the accommodation you will find the train station with bistro, the village general store with post office, two hotels with restaurants, the bakery Giacometti, a small sports field / ice rink, a unique children’s playground and various small businesses including our bike shop and our guitar workshop.
In summer time, the Engadin Valley a unique hiking and mountain biking paradise for all levels. The Swiss National Park is also close to Lavin with the beautiful Macun Lakes Plateau. The Inn river, which flows through our village, invites you to fish, to grill and attracts many whitewater kayakers!
In winter it only takes 20 minutes by train or car to the next bigger ski resort in Scuol. In Lavin itself you’ll find a 3km long toboggan run and very nice cross-country ski tracks along the Inn river.
Culturally as well, the Engadin Valley has a lot to offer. Many historic villages (like Lavin) with houses from the 15th to the 17th century are right there to discover! Attractions such as the almost 1000 year old castle Tarasp, the castle ruin of Susch or the small ruins settlement Gonda outside of Lavin are also worthwhile excursion destinations.
During the main seasons in summer and winter, cultural events are offered in different places.
We are happy to give you tips for your trips or we also organize bike tours and the like for groups.
