Get inspired for your guitar playing, enjoy the fellowship, find resonance with your creator!
What to expect
The Pick & Strum Guitar Workshop is all about having a relaxed and inspiring time together, sharing our the passion for guitars, improving our playing skills and enjoying fellowship! The breathtaking environment of the Engadin valley and our cozy accommodation will provide the perfect setting.
In this workshop we will concentrate on exploring guitar accompaniment across a variety of styles. Whether you enjoy just playing for yourself, are a worship leader or part of a band, this experience is designed for anyone who is passionate about acoustic guitars who wants to enhance their skills and break free from their comfort zone to discover new ways to groove.
This Guitar Workshop will take place during our “Tune Inn” fall term and can be nicely combined with a longer stay 🙂
Workshop leader Martin Moro
We are thrilled to have Martin Moro from Austria leading this workshop as an outstanding acoustic guitarist with lots of Workshop teaching experience at all levels! Martin has spent his whole life with various instruments and bands doing studio recordings and live concerts. He has over 30 years of experience with tours, guest appearances and CD productions. He works as a producer, studio musician, sideman, arranger and composer and also does his solo concerts. To date, he has released six solo albums, as well as countless recordings in which he appears as a studio musician or producer.
Martin’s goal: “Over the years you can get caught up in certain patterns when making music, and the joy of playing can suffer greatly as a result. The aim of this workshop is to break down these patterns, open new doors and revive the joy of music! My greatest joy is, when I see the joy of making music flare up again in the eyes of the workshop participants!”
More about Martin you will find further down.

Workshop Content
-Song structure, dynamics
-The principle of the inner drummer
-Different strumming and picking styles
-What do additions like maj7, sus 4, add 9 actually mean? Is it contagious?
-Chord progressions and bass lines between chords
-What should you bear in mind when playing with others?
This and much more we will dive into together and put it into practice straight away.
Beyond guitar playing, you will also get a chance to learn more about how to perfectly set-up your guitar and many other guitar related topics. Host Luke Brunner has been building guitars for 30 years and will explain many basics and will give some deeper insights during a tour in his workshop and showroom. Martin also has lots to share about his preferences for strings, pick-ups and more and give maintance tips from a players side.
What our days will look like
After breakfast we will have a short devotional time looking at some “guitar parables” and think about how God wants to “resonate” in and through our lives.
From 9.30 onwards Martin will start with the workshop on the different topics and putting things into practice. The Afternoons will be mostly free to enjoy the outdoors on a small hike, go biking, do some sightseeing in the historical villages of the region or just enjoy some downtime at the accommodation. On some days Martin may also offer some optional teaching sessions in the afternoons if desired.
The evenings will always be a relaxed time for playing games, singing or more jam sessions!
Concert Night
On Saturday night, as a special highlight of our time together, we will have the privilege to enjoy a living room concert with Martin Moro! Also other guests will be invited.
Accommodation
We are planning to have both bigger accommodations “Palantschin” and “Plan Sura” available during this week to have more to have more rooms available. This way we can also offer double rooms should you want to come as a couple.
The meals and the sessions with Martin Moro will take place on the top floor, in the group accommodation “Palantschin”.
